Sacred Silliness: The Soul Medicine You Didn’t Know You Were Starving For
A love letter to joy, nonsense, and the playmate who brought me home to myself.
Have you ever laughed so hard that your body relaxed in a way no meditation ever managed to reach?
That’s not an accident, my friend.
That’s not distraction.
That’s sacred silliness, and it’s one of the most underestimated healing frequencies we have access to.
We live in a world that equates “depth” with heaviness.
Where sacred work often looks like shadows, stillness, and silence.
And yes, those are sacred. But so is this:
✨ A bunny in rainbow socks named Bibble.
✨ A motivational cow in purple leg warmers.
✨ A glitter-covered pigeon prophet yelling affirmations from a rooftop.
✨ A snort-laugh that opens your heart wider than any mantra ever did.
This is the work of the Playhouse.
This is Sacred Silliness… joy with roots. Laughter with Purpose.
And it’s not a side note.
It’s central to how we remember who we really are.
So… What Is Sacred Silliness?
It’s the place where whimsy meets wisdom.
It’s allowing yourself to:
Heal through character, story, and joyful archetypes
Reclaim the parts of you that once felt “too much” or “too weird”
Let joy become not just a reward but the pathway
Sacred Silliness isn’t immature.
It’s emotionally advanced.
Because it takes incredible courage to laugh again after the world has tried to flatten you with seriousness.
A Personal Note: My Favorite Playmate
I didn’t always give myself permission to be silly.
I grew up as a “little adult”…sensitive, responsible, often more attuned to the emotions in the room than my own inner joy.
Yes, there was fun. Yes, there was laughter. But play? Play was something I offered others more than I claimed for myself.
And then came DW.
We’ve been together for 36 years, married for 35, and every single day, he has made me laugh. Not just a chuckle. I’m talking belly-laugh-until-I-cry laughter.
He is the keeper of my giggles.
My softest mirror.
My favorite playmate.
DW taught me that silliness is not childish, it’s healing.
That it’s okay to be weird, offbeat, ridiculous. That joy doesn’t need a reason. That love can sound like snort-laughs and dad jokes and moments of sacred nonsense that save your soul without you realizing it.
He didn’t just bring laughter into our home.
He helped me bring it back into myself.
And now? I build that into the very bones of The Playhouse.
So that you, who may have also grown up too soon, or forgotten how it feels to sparkle for no reason, can find your way back, too.
Sacred Silliness Sounds Like...
“You’re not broken. You’re blooming in a world that forgot how to wait for flowers.”
“You don’t need a full business plan. You need a glitter wand and a snack.”
“What if healing could be 20% crying and 80% building a blanket fort and naming your inner dragon Steve?”
Why Your Nervous System Craves It:
Seriousness is often how we brace.
Silliness is how we release.
When you laugh… genuinely, freely… you signal safety to your entire system.
You soften. You open. You become available to receive.
That’s why the Playhouse exists.
That’s why the characters started coming to me… not as strategy, but as soul.
They're not just cute. They are coded.
Each one carries a frequency that reawakens something we forgot was sacred:
✨ our joy
✨ our weird
✨ our wonder
Sacred Silliness Is a Spiritual Practice
It’s how I lead.
It’s how I heal.
It’s how I remember.
So if you’ve been feeling heavy, serious, stuck, or unsure if your joy even counts anymore…
Come sit with us.
Bibble will cast you a crayon spell.
Mootilda will moo-tivate your magic.
Melvin the Mostly Mystic will improvise you a miracle.
And your soul?
She’ll remember:
“This was never just about healing. It was about coming back to life.”
Ready to Play Again?
The Sacred Playhouse is open.
The Garden is blooming.
The invitation is not to perform joy, but to feel safe inside of it again.
Come giggle with your grief.
Come sparkle with your sorrow.
Come let your weird be your wisdom.
Because silliness is not small.
It’s sacred.
