Core Values
A discussion about the things that drive us as we reach for more meaningful connections with others.
The Garden (which has an energy all its own) intends to be a refuge for human souls feeling battered by life's experiences. It is a space where you can rest and recharge for a while, gathering tools, techniques, and strategies for living more peacefully, abundantly, and joyfully throughout this human experience.
I’m honored and grateful you are here! And if you resonate with the work I do here, I invite you to become a subscriber. Either way, I’m glad you are here, my friend!
Good morning, my dear friend! I hope this fine Fri-YAY finds you and yours well.
I know I already have a blog post (E Is For Embracing Change) out in the ethers today. I also know that I have a draft written (V Is For Values) and waiting to be published closer to the end of the month, but I just feel this can’t wait until then.
This week, I engaged in a wonderful discussion initiated by
over at Live Free.“What are your top 3 core values & why do they matter to you?”
To be honest, I had never given it much thought until this week. It took me a few days, but I finally narrowed it down.
My core values. What I value in myself and others:
Love. Maybe it sounds a little "naive" or that I'm far removed from what it means to live a human life, but I value - above all else - LOVE. I truly believe that each of us IS the energy of love in our natural, innate state beyond this physical body. Any time we demonstrate love, compassion, and empathy in the world, we are being our true, authentic selves.
Creativity. I believe that creativity and the things we give expression to through our art/writing/etc are a physical representation/expression of our true soul-self out in the world. You don’t have to work as a creative. You don’t even have to consider yourself to be a creative (ie artist, writer, etc). You ARE creative because you exist. Maybe you’re just not yet aware of how you express it.
Connection. As humans, we crave connection. With it, we thrive. Without it, we wither. This connection can be with one another and/or Spirit (Source, our guides, loved ones, and angels) OR with ourselves. This deep, beyond-the-physical realm connection feeds us in a way that nothing else can, but it's also one type of connection that eludes many of us.
What are your top 3 core values? I would love for you to share them in the comments below!
Until next time, my friend, take care, and (as always) may you be well!
Are you looking for a greater connection with a loving, supportive community? I invite you to join us over in the Garden.
I am in the process of moving the group from Facebook to my website. So, there aren’t too many people there yet, but I would love for you to be one of the founders of the new space!
I can’t whittle mine down to 3 right now, but I’ll give you 5: expansiveness, health, connection, joy, adventure
Happy Friday Dawna! I'm so happy that the thread inspired you to do some deep reflection. I hope this post helps you to connect with your audience :)
